Fresh from the long weekend, and now Mommylicious is back to business! I was fortunate enough that a PR company approached me to review ABCmouse.com , a full online curriculum website with six academic levels for preschooler through kindergartener. ABCmouse.com teaches reading, math, vocabulary, arts and colors, and music through a fun learning experience. Once you sign up, you can enter your child’s name, age, an avatar, and level you would like to start with (according to his/her ability). This way, you can keep track of your child’s development as he or she explore the website. Once a task is completed, your child will receive some tickets. The number of tickets received depends on the complexity of a task. Your child can exchange these tickets to personalize his/her avatar (buy new clothing for the avatar, emoticons, etc). All the activities in ABCmouse.com is done by using mouse. Your child can do all kind of activities such as listening to stories, doing puzzles, coloring pages, traceable, and many more (too long to list). You just have to visit the website yourself!
Unfortunately, my three-year-old still doesn’t have a good hand/eye coordination to be able to use the mouse properly. I’ll give him a few more months and hopefully he would be able to enjoy the website. Meanwhile he probably can enjoy listening to some of the stories. On aside note, when you move from one activity to another, the pages take a while to load. The good thing is they have a pop up mini game that your child can play with while waiting. Trust me, those mini games are so much fun!
I highly recommend ABCmouse.com to all young kids. It’s when learning becomes enjoyable!
