Ever since we had a child, I noticed that my hubby and I occasionally use baby languages in our conversation or with others, even when our son is not around.  There were times when my hubby told me, “Hon, my tummy hurts”.  Or when we went to the zoo and I was having a hard time finding where the train station is, I asked the zoo keeper, “Do you happen to know where the choo choo train is?”  Then as I walked away after he pointed out to me, I realized what I just said to him and chuckled.

Last week after we got back from our Disney vacation, we finally put up our Christmas Tree.  We usually put the Christmas Tree in the corner of our living room next to the fireplace.  However, we recently moved our recliner to that spot.  So I asked my hubby if we can temporarily moved the recliner somewhere else and put the Christmas Tree over there.  My hubby said no and suggested we put the Christmas Tree on the other side of the living room, across from the fireplace.  So I said to him,

“Usually people put Christmas Tree next to the fireplace”

“Really?  Why?”

“So that it’s not too far for Santa to put the presents after he comes out of the chimney”

“You know, Santa is not that out of shape!  If he can get down the chimney he can walk a few steps to put down the presents”

So we finally set to put the Christmas Tree right where my hubby wanted it, and it looked just fine.  After a few moments I thought to myself, I can’t believe I just had this serious conversation about Santa coming down the chimney.
