My Top Reality TV Must Watches

October 18th, 2012

Due to my hectic life and the fact that I really need to focus on doing something productive, I have decided to cut down my time in watching reality TV shows.  My number one Reality TV show that I need to cross out of my life is Bravo’s Real Housewives series.  That show is stupid, full of drama, and quite frankly numbing your brain!  So I’ve been so proud of myself that I did not watch the Real Housewives of New York City, have no interest of watching the upcoming Atlanta and Beverly Hills ones, and those women in the Real Housewives of Miami that’s currently on are creeping me out with face and chest filled with plastic surgery.  Ugghhh….!!

I must say there are a few Reality TV that are worth to watch, mainly the ones that show talent or entrepreneurship and not too much drama involve.  Some of these shows are probably not currently on, but might come back sometimes in  the near future.

Dance Mom

I have to say the only reason I watch this show is those kids are super talented.  I can never get enough watching those kids dancing.  The moms, on the other hand, sometimes I want to slap them when they start fighting with each other… in front of the kids!!  And don’t even get me started with the dancing teacher.  Yes she’s a great choreographer, but the way she treated those kids are completely out of line.  If my daughter goes to her dance studio, I would’ve yanked her out of there in a heartbeat.  Needless to say, the talent is what keeps me watching.  It’s not currently on and I think Abby Miller is having another dancing competition show, which I have no interest of watching so far.

Project Runway

This is my all time favorite, although I have to say it’s getting a little old after 10 season.  However It’s still a good show to watch while blogging or folding laundry.

Long Island Medium

OMG I don’t even know where to start!  I loooovveeeee this show so much.  I do have to say some of the episodes are kind of creeping me out a little bit, like the one when she traveled and stayed in a haunted hotel.  The ghost, who happened to be a little girl, contacted her to tell the hotel manager not to kick them out.  What was creeping me out is she could actually see the ghost!  Anyway, I think she’s funny, she made me believe there is something after life.

Love it or List it

I don’t know if this falls under the same category as Reality Show, but this HGTV home remodeling show is fantastic.  The show is about couples who own older homes that are no longer functioning with their current lifestyle.  One of the owner would like to move and one would like to stay.  So HGTV sends a real estate agent who is responsible for finding a new home, and an interior designer/contractor who transforms their home into a functioning one so that they would stay.

These following Reality TV are not currently on, but I have watched these, really enjoyed it and would like to see it again.

Fashion Hunter

A group of people working in a second hand store that sells used designer clothes, bags and shoes.  I love how they negotiate and price the product.  This is definitely one of very few educating reality show that you can learn a lot from.

Cake Boss, DC Cupcakes and Little Choccolattier

I put these shows together because I like them for the same reason: the creativity and how they run the bakery.

Bottom line is… No more stupid Real Housewives and only watch the shows I can learn something from!
