Mommylicious.net would never be at where it is now without the help of other sites. There are several websites that I regularly visit to get some ideas, typically in regards to the upcoming family events in Columbus, new comer restaurants, local shopping boutiques, local news, and kids entertainment venues.
www.kidslinked.com
This is my main resource to get information about family and kids events around Columbus, OH. Summer is a busy time for our family. Every Thursday I would go to kidslinked.com to find out what’s happening around Columbus. This is where I found out about Balloons and Tunes, historical downtown festival in Powell and Westerville, and many more. It gives you full information about admission fees if applicable, hours, what to expect, etc. My son learns a lot simply by going to these events.
www.kidseatout.com
Another great site that gives you list of restaurants that offer free kids meal, happy hour specials, family oriented, coupons, and reviews from moms’ perspective. Did you read a recent news about a restaurant in NC that put a sign: Screaming Children Will Not Be Tolerated? Not saying that there are such restaurants here in Columbus, but checking kidseatout.com will assure you no one is kicking you out.
www.experiencecolumbus.com
Sometimes there are some events that are not quite family oriented but I do want to visit, such as trade shows, farmers market, exhibition and many more. I attended a blogger panel at baby bonanza exhibition that I found out from this site.
www.columbusunderground.com
This site focuses mainly in downtown and surrounding area. If you subscribe to their newsletter, every Monday they email you about anything that’s happening around downtown. I found out about Lotti Da baby boutique from this site and wrote review about it. There are countless restaurants and boutiques that were mentioned on columbusunderground.com, which I ended up visiting those places and write reviews about them.
My offline resources are Columbus Parent magazine, Alive and The Other newspaper. Being a blogger means continuously educate yourself by reading lots and lots of materials. I consider all my resources as partners and thank all of them for providing good materials thus far.
