For this year’s Mother’s Day, I asked my hubby for a day off. I didn’t want any flower, gifts, spa treatment, breakfast in bed, and being 7 month pregnant, I’m too heavy to even eat out. I just want to relax and catch up on stuffs that I’m supposed to do, such as scrapbooking our Disney trip, blog related tasks, etc.
Well, that didn’t go very well because my son was sick since Friday. He’s feeling a bit better today but still not 100% well. He still doesn’t want to eat and I really don’t want any of us take a day off tomorrow in case he gets sick again.
Anyway, I did get some time to catch up with a few blogging related tasks but far from my expectation. Then hubby came home bringing my favorite dish from Piada:
I was pretty impressed about the fact that he picked the right ingredients and the right sauce, considering he never ordered this before (Pasta dish is not his forte).
This evening after hubby putting our son to bed, he said our son wanted to cuddle with me for just a little bit. While laying on his bed, my son whispered, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mommy!”
I said, “You know, being a mother is great. You know why?”
Son: “Why?”
Me (trying to simplify my answer as much as possible): “Because I have a sweet boy like you”
He smiled and gave me a big hug…
You know that being a mother is a rewarding job when you notice all the sweet little gestures we got from our family.
Happy Mother’s Day to me and all mothers out there!
