Inflatable Party Place Columbus, OH

My son just turned 5 last week, and let me tell you… it took me months to plan his birthday party.  As the date was getting closer, I got so busy at work that I almost cancelled it.  But then I felt bad because I really wanted to throw him a birthday party.  To me, five year old is another milestone leaving a toddler age into the “big kids” era.

Anyway, I really wanted to have a birthday party at an inflatable bounce house party place.  We planned on inviting a few of his friends from school whose parents I barely know of, and I was a little leery about entertaining the guests.  After doing some research, I found three reputable inflatable bounce house party places in Columbus, OH.

SuperGames

  • Location: Worthington, OH
  • Price: $250 for 30 people
  • Length of playtime: 90 minutes; Party room:  30 minutes

Pros:

  1. Since it’s located in Worthington, it’s the closest one from my place
  2. Allow to bring your own food (any type)

Cons:

  1. The number of guests allowed (30) is actually include adults.  I have major issue with kids birthday venues that are charging adults.  This is truly a deal breaker in my case.  Parents at kids birthday parties don’t typically enjoy sliding or bouncing off these inflatables.  They are there to chaperon the kids!  Having said that, you do want parents to be there to make sure the kids are safe, or calming them down when they get hurt.  So charging parents or in this case including them as a part of 30 guests is completely absurd in my opinion!
  2. Bring your own plates and utensils

Kingdom of Bounce

  • Location:  Easton
  • Price:  $250 for 25 guests (not including adults and the birthday child)
  • Length of playtime:  75 minutes; Party room: 45 minutes

Pros:

  1. Location is pretty decent, plus it’s very close to Easton in case you want to shop after the party
  2. Party supplies and utensils are provided

Cons:

  1. No outside food allowed other than cake, dry snacks and individually packaged drinks

Pump it Up

  • Location:  Plain City
  • Price:  $239 for 25 guests, 80 minutes playtime, 40 minutes party time
    or
$199 for 15 guests, 60 minutes playtime and 30 minutes party time

Pros:

  1. Of all inflatable places in Columbus, Pump it Up is the only one that offers option for a smaller party
  2. Party supplies and utensils are provided

Cons:

  1. Location is a bit out of the way
  2. No outside food allowed other than cake, dry snacks and individually packaged drinks

After much consideration, we decided to go with Pump it Up.  We just wanted to have a small party with a few of his friends from school and some close friends.  Having said that, Pump it Up Classic 90 package is perfect for us.  For $199 my son had a blast with his close friends.  The party was from 3:30 to 5 pm.  Cake and snack was served to all guests including the adults.  I must say though, the party time is not long enough to include opening up presents.  So that was the biggest mistake I made, trying to rush opening up presents and taking pictures with a bunch of 5 year old getting in the way.  Arrrgghhh…. I was just about to lose my mind!  We didn’t have enough time to open all of them, but at least we got a few pictures of him and his friends.

One party down, next one is coming up!  I’m throwing a birthday party for my baby, who is turning 1 this Summer. :)

I know kids love those inflatable jump palaces. My wife’s school actually rented one out for spirit day. Not sure if it was worth the expense though…I think going to a place that provides the service makes much more sense and is more economical.
