Baby Shower Gift Ideas for Baby #2

Throwing baby shower and finding baby shower gifts for a first time mom is always easy; you just buy the essentials.  Bottle warmer, baby bath tub, pack and play, bottles, you name it.  Most of the items you can find at baby registry anyway.  Now, what if the mom is expecting baby number 2?  Even trickier like in my case, what if baby number 2 is the same gender as the first one?  Most preggo moms that I know, who’s expecting second child actually don’t want to have baby shower.  However we typically throw baby shower anyway just to have fun with a bunch of girlfriends.  We’re all about having fun, right?

In my case, I didn’t even get a chance to go to my baby shower for my youngest son.  Why?  Because he was born on the day I was supposed to have a shower :).  My friend, who was the host, had to email everyone to cancel it.  So what are moms favorite presents when number two is in the way?

Never Go Wrong with Diapers

Who doesn’t need diapers?  Any moms would appreciate diapers.  If you’re insisting in getting something cute, you can order diaper cake or simply do DIY.

Bibs

We go through these like crazy.  You can never get too many bibs.  It get puked, drooled, stained on like nobody’s business.  A lot of bibs that I had from my oldest son can no longer be used.  Besides, they’re so cute and super cheap.

Stick with the Cutesy Stuffs

Everybody loves cutesy stuffs.  In fact, baby shower for moms who have older child(ren) is more about having fun than getting all the necessary stuffs.  It’s all about oooh-ing and aaah-ing.

Last But Not Least, Gift Card

I personally don’t like giving gift cards because it’s just less personal.  Typically the only time I would give gift cards is when I don’t really know the person that well, or the person is planning on moving out of state/country and therefore cannot receive too many stuffs.  Otherwise, I typically would give something that would be beneficial to the moms.  In my experience as a mom of two boys, I’d rather receive gift cards to a grocery store than baby store when I was having my second son for the obvious reason.  I already have all the baby essentials from my oldest son.  Gift cards to Target and Walmart will always be useful to the expectant parents.
